Promoters Robert Shaw and Alan Sher have put on some of the coolest shows in the growing west midtown neighborhood of Atlanta for the past three years. They felt the need to open a venue that would be known as “The home of friendly staff and unforgettable nights of music.”
So what did they do? They visited the best live music spaces across the country to get a clear grasp of what makes them special and memorable for the ‘fan!’
Nestled in King Plow, a renovated campus of warehouses, is a bold newcomer that The Fly is happy to be affiliated with. Terminal West is the latest addition to the buzzing live music scene in the ATL – and it is one to be reckoned with! A renovated 100 year old iron and steel foundry that originally manufactured plows, Terminal West is an upscale venue where the attention to detail put into design paid off. There are brick walls accented with raw wood ceilings, high end lighting and sound system, and an outdoor roof deck that overlooks the historic train tracks of West Atlanta.
But what makes Robert and Alan so rad is they have a pulse on social media and have been on the forefront of engaging their fans through such channels. They even made a video on ‘The Making of Terminal West!’ Check it out:
We’re just stoked to be able to use the phrase coined by Gucci Mane and V-Nasty’s mixtape – BAYTL (the Bay + ATL, for all of you slow peeps).
