If you live in Northern California and love live folk, roots, world, bluegrass, jazz, or experimental music, then you gotta check out Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley. It’s an eclectic venue that specializes in traditional/roots music, and has been operating out the of East Bay for over 40 years. The Freight recently moved (~4 years ago) into a beautiful new space (400 cap) that would make most venue owners drool. Needless to say, we’re delighted to announce our new partnership with them.
The Freight provides a wide range of musical workshops and classes. Classes and workshops at the Freight give anyone the chance to sing, play an instrument, or simply share traditional music with their community.
Don’t be selfish! Spread the wealth (of knowledge). Give your kids the opportunity to discover their musical talents and creativity at the Freight’s Fiddlekids Summer Camp. They’ll learn to play the fiddle or violin, and even experiment with their own vocal chords.
Attention college students near Berkeley (go Bears!)… Another great perk about F&S is that they offer a youth discount for all their tickets. So if you’re under the age of 26, tickets are relatively cheap. Who knew 25-year-olds could still relish in youth discounts? This is awesome!
Supporting Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse fuels the movement to keep live music alive. F&S is non-profit, so become a member or donate today.
