As reported by Brooklyn Vegan, our good friends Jake and Rami at Popgun Presents will be closing Glasslands Gallery at the end of the year, while continuing to book shows around town at venues like Saint Vitus (including two sold-out Savages shows), Le Poisson Rouge, or Cameo Gallery.
Glasslands will be closing out with an epic New Years Eve show featuring four special mystery guests, all of whom have some connection to the venue. Before then, the lineup of bands coming to salute Glasslands include favorites like Com Truise, Duck Tails, Bit Funk and Escort (DJ set), and more, including the Glasslands Holiday Party on the 22nd.
A staple of the South Williamsburg scene since 2006, Glasslands describes itself as a “converted warehouse, formerly a homegrown community art space turned psychedelic venue partyhaus.”
According to Brooklyn Vegan, some of Jake and Rami’s favorite shows over the years have been Tanlines, Franz Ferdinand, Jonathan Toubin’s Soul Clap parties, Darkside, Disclosure, and Das Racist. Glasslands will be deeply missed, but we can’t wait to see what Popgun Presents does next.
