Hello World: We Are Ticketfly Tech
We’re a passionate mix of engineers, designers, and product people working to build the most open, intuitive, and innovative platform for live events. Our software empowers fans to discover, purchase tickets to, and attend some of the best events across North America; enabling venues & concert promoters to run successful live event businesses.
The work we do from our small corner of the world in San Francisco keeps the lights on at venues and festivals across the continent (more than 1,200 of them), helps elevate touring artists to new heights, and connects fans with unforgettable memories that come from being in the moment.
Surfing into the moment.
Iconic rocker Sammy Hagar doesn’t just defy speed limits, the Chickenfoot frontman and former Van Halen singer also has a way of shucking convention to find a better way of doing things.
We recently partnered with Hagar’s Red Rocker Touring for an unconventional collaboration in celebration of his 69th birthday. His needs were specific: the party would stretch over four nights (October 7, 9, 11, and 13) at his Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with only 500 tickets sold each night. The tricky part? Rather than selling tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, Hagar wanted to set up a lottery system.
Today our fast-growing list of new partners gets even longer (or should we say higher?) with the addition of top Colorado promoter Z2 Entertainment. Z2 joins seven other Ticketfly venues in the region including The Marquis, The Summit Music Hall, and Denver Botanic Gardens, as well as Riot Fest. The Denver metro area is now officially a Ticketfly town, and we couldn’t be prouder!

As downtown Tucson continues to grow, so does the Rialto Theatre Foundation. A Ticketfly partner since 2013, the foundation operates historic Arizona venue The Rialto Theatre and recently took over the mid-sized 191 Toole, bringing it into the ‘fly fold and strengthening the city’s growing music scene.

As our friend Ice Cube might say, today was a good day. This morning we announced a record-breaking sixty-day period for the ‘fly in the Southern United States. In just two months, 12 venues, three festivals, one promoter, and one professional sports team joined up with us and we couldn’t be prouder to say “thanks, y’all!” This unprecedented run was catalyzed by the success of Memphis in May’s Beale Street Music Festival this past spring. The notable additions span seven states and make Ticketfly the top provider to independent venues and promoters in the region. The newest partners include:
Brooklyn DIY venue and long-time Ticketfly partner The Acheron ended a six-year run on July 9, leaving a swarm of NY punks and metalheads mourning.
Ticketfly may not be in the Olympics, but we’re still going for gold. We recently launched Pandora concert notifications, along with offer templates in Ticketfly Promoter and automated cart abandonment emails to re-engage fans. But we can’t bring home any medals without an all-star team. Meet the newest additions to our ‘fly fam.
Now Playing (#NP) at Ticketfly HQ is the blog series that brings you all the beats playing around the ‘fly, handpicked by our music-crazed teammates. Feast your ears on our eclectic playlist and meet a few of the folks helping to bring you the shows you love. Continue reading
We love concerts, whether it’s an acoustic show at a cozy coffee joint or a roving festival with an explosive production. As long as the music reigns supreme, we’re all in. That said, we wouldn’t mind if the great music was being delivered on a stage along a river where we could also ride horses and BMX bikes, camp, play laser tag, wakeboard, speed down a 100-foot water slide that launches us 25-feet into the air, or pretend we’re superheroes while using a water-propelled jet pack.
While that may sound like a fantasy land you dreamt up as a kid, it’s a very real destination. Continue reading
Last year, we joined forces with Pandora to create the world’s most powerful music marketing platform. Today we’re taking another step toward making that vision a reality with automated, personalized concert notifications for Ticketfly shows on Pandora. Pandora listeners will receive notifications for just-announced shows and onsales in an increasing number of ways, including: feed alerts in the Pandora app (already live), push notifications on mobile devices (launching soon), and personalized live event email digests (launching later this year).
