Are you heading to Austin for SXSW? The Ticketfly crew’s doing it BIG this year. We’ll be on the ground throughout Interactive (3/13-3/17) and Music (3/17-3/22), and we’d love to see you there. We’ll have representation from multiple teams at Ticketfly—see some our key point of contacts below and shoot us a note if you’d like to grab some Shiner and BBQ with us. You can also keep up with the Ticketfly team on the ground on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
Panels and Meetups
Scala & Reactive Meetup – Monday 3/16 (11am)
After our 2013 interactive workshop, an enthusiastic group of engineers in attendance took us out for beers to geek-out on Scala—an elegant programming language we’re especially fond of using here at Ticketfly to develop precise, fast, and scalable applications. We had so much fun last year, we thought we’d host a meet-up this year for a broader audience of Scala enthusiasts and folks interested in reactive application design (with beers, of course). Come network, share knowledge, and have a brew before noon.
Host: Robert Preissl, Senior Platform Architect, Ticketfly
How Tech Companies are Improving Event Discovery – Saturday 3/21 (2pm)
Last year we moderated a panel on analyzing and acting on fan data to know and grow fan communities. This year’s panel will focus on how technology companies are using a combination of humans and data to help fans discover events they’ll love. Hear from Facebook, Google, DoStuff Media, and Ticketfly about the changing world of event discovery, what’s coming, and what it means for you.
Moderator: Kristina Wallender, VP of Marketing, Ticketfly
Justin Boyan, Product Manager, Events Search & Knowledge Graph, Google
Aditya Koolwal, Product Manager, Events, Facebook
Scott Owens, Founder, DoStuff Media
