Congratulations to the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. (one of the many Ticketfly clients also nominated for a Pollstar Award this week) on snagging the Billboard Touring Award for “Top Club” (based on attendance) for the 4th year running, and the 5th total. It should come as no surprise to anyone who has been there that the 9:30 Club is one of the premier music venues in the country.
Located at 9th and V Streets in Washington, D.C., the 9:30 Club is a place that music fans love and bands aspire to play. Check out their upcoming lineup here, featuring The Tragically Hip, Yeasayer, G. Love & Special Sauce, Citizen Cope, Sufjan Stevens, Public Enemy, Femi Kuti, and many more.
“I like to think that people appreciate the fact that we’re real people trying to have fun – and fun for us is seeing everyone comfortable and having a good time,“ said Seth Hurwitz, chairman of I.M.P. and co-owner of the 9:30 Club. “I mean there’s nothing extraordinary about that, but these days you seem to get extra credit for just being normal.”
Clearly Seth and the 9:30 team are doing a lot of things right in order to maintain excellence year after year, and we’re proud to be their partner.
Speaking of award-winning Ticketfly venues in D.C., the U Street Music Hall down the road (a cross-promoting partner with the 9:30 Club on some shows), was just listed as having the #2 Soundsystem in America by Beatport. According to the article, U Street has a state-of-the-art system:
Processed with a BSS Soundweb London Blu-160 and a XTA DP226, and the subwoofer amplification is handled by Martin Audio MA9.6K and MA12K.
Even if that’s all Greek to you, the point is that U Street has a truly awesome set of speakers, so if you’re looking for an audiophile’s night out, check out their upcoming calendar and get over there!
