It’s official: Ticketfly and Eventbrite are one team

Earlier this summer, we announced that Ticketfly and Eventbrite would be coming together to form one company with the best technology, team, and service in the live events business. Today the acquisition closed, which means we can start working together as one team to build the next-generation platform for independent venues and promoters.

Ticketfly and Eventbrite are the two most progressive companies in live events. We are bringing together the best minds in the industry under one roof to build a platform that delivers the best of both worlds and helps to make you more successful.

We are now the largest independent ticketing company in the world. This year, we expect to sell more than 200 million tickets globally, generating $4B in gross ticket sales. 60 million people bought tickets to our events over the past year. We are 800 employees, including a product and engineering team that is 200 strong. This year alone we will power 3 million events. We are #2 in the world as measured by the number of tickets processed and #1 in the world as measured by number of events.

But make no mistake, our goal is to be the provider of choice for indie venues and promoters the world over, and to continue to be one of the driving forces behind a vibrant and dynamic independent music scene.

In the short term very little will change. We will work hard to make sure that there is no disruption to your business. Beyond that, the long term planning has started in earnest, in regard to how we can bring these teams and platforms together in a smart and thoughtful way.

I’m fired up to lead the combined company’s music efforts. We’re building a dedicated music team within Eventbrite, populated with all-stars from across both companies. We plan to work closely with you – our clients – as we look to build this next-generation music platform.
