#NP at Ticketfly HQ

Aug. 13, 2015

Eminem, Queen, Jamie XX, Grateful Dead, Nine Inch Nails — we’ve got a little bit of everything in our latest #NP at Ticketfly HQ, our blog series that brings you all the sounds playing around the ‘fly. Just take the rest of the day, or week, off, crank up these tunes and get your weekend going early. If your boss asks, you did not get that advice from us.

NPJoshName: Josh
Department: Design
Now playing: 20syl – “Copycat” feat. Fashawn
Best concert experience: Phoenix live at a secret show at The Independent
Most recent album purchase: Jamie xx – “In Colour”
Favorite lyrics: Lately I’ve been loving this gem from Eminem: “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There’s vomit on his sweater already: mom’s spaghetti.” Spaghetti is such a weird/funny thing to bring up in such a serious context.

NPJerome Name: Jerome
Department: Engineering
Now playing: Gojira – “Art of Dying”
Best concert experience: King Crimson
Next upcoming concert in August or beyond: Mastodon
Most recent album purchase: Killing Joke – “Killing Joke”
Favorite Lyrics: “They say that life’s a carousel, Spinning fast, you’ve got to ride it well, The world is full of Kings and Queens, Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams, It’s Heaven and Hell, oh well”

NPJeff Name: Jeff
Department: Engineering
Now playing: Ram Das and company – “Maha Mantra (Hare Krishna/Hare Rama)”
Best concert experience: Surviving a gigantic (half a stadium floor) mosh put during Nine inch Nails’ Downward Spiral Tour (which maybe was the summer of 1994 in Topeka, KS)
Next upcoming concert in August or beyond: Nothing planned just yet, but it’d be nice to see George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic again
Most recent album purchase: Renaud Garcia-Fons Trio – “Arcoluz”
Random Fact: Bacteria in/on a human body outnumber that body’s cells by roughly 3:1

NPTylerName: Tyler
Department: Service Operations
Now playing: Grateful Dead – “Wake Up To Find Out” (From their Nassau Coliseum show in Uniondale, NY on 3/29/1990)
Best concert experience: During the 2014 World Series, the San Francisco Giants won in game 7, at the same time Phish was laying the funk down at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. When the game ended everyone in the building went absolutely crazy as the band segued seamlessly into Queen’s ‘We Are the Champions’, and then back to the song they were playing without missing a beat.
Next upcoming concert in August or beyond: Quite a bit of my August will be spent in the desert, but come September I’ll be checking out Snarky Puppy with Kamasi Washington
Most recent album purchase: Snarky Puppy & Metropole Orchestra – “Sylva”
Favorite lyrics: “Washa uffize drive me to firenze”
