Riot Fest

If you don’t know, now you know. The longtime fan favorite Riot Fest (now operating in Chicago, Denver, and Toronto), was named the #1 music festival in the United States by USA Today and 10Best readers.

In 2014, Riot Fest’s lineups included everyone from the Cure to Jane’s Addiction, The National, Rise Against, Weezer, The Flaming Lips, Social Distortion, Slayer, Wu-Tang Clan, Cheap Trick, Patti Smith, and many more amazing artists, along with carnival rides, lucha libre wrestling, sideshow entertainment, and great food and drink.

We asked our friend “Riot Mike” Petryshyn for the secret to their enduring success (since 2005) in creating a truly artist and fan-centered festival:

“We make sure we add flavor and make certain that Riot Fest isn’t like anything else. We need to be different, because that’s what attracts bands and fans. If you build something that is decently fun and that worthwhile bands want to play, it ultimately creates something special in the air.”

If you love music, add a trip to Riot Fest to your festival bucket list. Riot Fest 2015 is taking place on August 28th-30th in Denver, September 11-13th in Chicago, and September 19-20th in Toronto. Sign up for their newsletter to get announcements about onsale dates and lineups for each city.
