Spaceland Presents is one of the premier independent club promotion and event companies in Southern California. Known for bringing unexpected live musical events to unique cultural institutions, Spaceland is responsible for the Desert Daze Music Festival, Echo Park Rising, Cloak & Dagger: Dusk Till Dawn, talent booking at Twilight Concert Series at the Santa Monica Pier, MOCA Music, and Levitt Pavilion’s Summer Concert Series in addition to owning and operating popular LA venues The Echo, Echoplex, The Regent Theater, The Love Song Bar, and Prufrock Pizzeria.

When it was time for a website refresh, Spaceland knew it was be a great opportunity to set the record straight with fans with a site that properly reflects the dedicated team of concert curators and tastemakers that’s the driving force behind so many great music experiences. They brought the project to Ticketfly’s Design and Development Services team, responsible for building and powering over 800 custom live events websites.

New homepage features a revolving carousel

Spaceland’s Creative Director Megan Gersch explains, “We set out to create a site that would house all of our venues, events, and sponsorship info, as well as a new blog.” In addition to the goal of unifying Spaceland’s initiatives under one brand, crafting the new website was an opportunity to improve functionality to create a better user experience. “The old sites were dated and not very mobile friendly,” continues Gersch. “We feared that we were missing out on sales.”

Spaceland’s team had a number of ambitious ideas for the new site’s design and an extensive list of functional needs. Working closely with Ticketfly, this wishlist was turned into a working plan for a fully revamped Spaceland Presents website that would be delightful, informative, and easy to use.

Collaborating with Ticketfly was a rewarding and productive process. Even with a set plan, the project evolved significantly during the development stage. Gersch says that Ticketfly “would always take the time to work through our questions and explain functionality in detail. I am thankful that they were willing to push the platform to the limits and beyond to realize our vision.” According to the ‘fly’s Design and Development Manager Phill Mamula, working on this project “helped our development team better understand how to push event marketing to the limits.”

After months of work, the new Spaceland Presents website was launched this past July. The bold, colorful design showcases events across all of their venues along with a rich content experience for fans. Mamula notes, “with more than five different ways to engage with an event listing, the Spaceland site is a showcase of modern web practices with marketing-minded engagement.”

Detail of the new Spaceland Presents blog

While Spaceland’s previous blog was not optimized for longform or curated content, the new website now features original content including playlists and interviews, as well as the detailed information on upcoming events that visitors expect. And, it’s already making an impact. The Spaceland team reports positive feedback from talent agents and managers who appreciate the extra visibility for their artists on the new site.

If your website needs some love, maybe it’s time to consider a mobile-friendly, integrated website built and hosted by Ticketfly. Put your brand first and save time with a site that’s fully integrated with our ticketing, marketing, and analytics platform. Interested? Let’s talk.
